Every Academic year the programme of activities is subject to modification as deemed necessary by the incumbent executive board. However, the very core of activities include: daily, weekday and weekly mass; Pax week celebrations; Zonal and National Congresses.

PAX MASS

As part of our spiritual growth we decided to have a mid week PAX mass. This provides students a suitable time to convene and celebrate the Eucharist. Besides the mid week masses, the authorities of the St Theresa’s Parish have instituted a two mass system, allocating the 1st mass sole for PAX. This came through the efforts of the PAX executives. The Sunday PAX mass is yet to reach its full stage where students will not only take charge of activities for the mass but also be able to make contributions to the growth of the local parish development.

PAX WEEK

The maiden edition of the PAX Romana week was celebrated from the 31st January to 7th February 2010. Activities undertaken within the week included a talk on the theme;”THE CHALLENGES OF THE CATHOLIC STUDENT AS AN AGENT OF CHANGE” delivered by Dr Michael Wombeogo, a quiz competition between the various groups in the church, a gospel rock show showcasing the PAX choir, jazz, UDS mass choir and the inspirational rockers, a clean up exercise, games and the climax of the week long celebration with a thanks giving mass and fund raising with the guest of honour and main celebrant being the vicar general  of the Tamale Metropolitan Archdiocese Msg Christopher Bazaanah. Other invited guests were the Northern zonal FGCHT coordinator, invited lecturers, SMHS SRC President, SMHS MSA President.

CONSTITUTION

PAX SMHS branch has a constitution. This is a blend of the standing arrangement of the national PAX and the School’s code of ethics and etiquettes governing students at SMHS. This was undertaken at the very early stages of our existence. The constitution clearly spells out the duties of officers elected among others.
